Statistics show that farmers’ markets are popping up all over the country, their numbers increasing substantially every year

Did you know that the number of farmers’ markets in the US has increased by nearly 80 percent since 1994? That’s more than 4.5 times the number of farmers’ markets today as there were then! The number of farmer’s markets has increased from 1,755 to 8,144 based on statistics from the National Directory of Farmer’s Markets,which is published by the USDA.
