We invite you to mark your calendars to join us for a Zoom class on timely tree care. Greg and Janis will host these Tree Care - Zoom Chats focusing on fruit tree care with seasonal tips, harvest alerts, and timely refreshers for success with your fruit trees. And YES we do live Q&A for your fruit tree questions! This monthly class will take place on the 2nd Tuesday of the month, at 6pm AZ time.
This month we will discuss the care necessary for your fruit trees during August, and delve into some yummy edible options you can find with native species. We've asked a couple experts on Desert Food Harvesting to share their insights and helpful hints for this time of year.
The second topic in our 2021 Fruit Tree Education Series focuses on What to do AFTER you buy your fruit trees. Three ways to avoiding common mistakes that could kill your fruit tree. There are three things that most people do to kill their trees. We will explore what you can do to avoid them and learn skills for ultimate fruit tree success! We will dive in and get a better understanding about how to make healthy soil for your tree to grow into. Plus you will learn Greg’s 6/6 rule (A must for all fruit trees) and the best shape and size to dig your planting hole.
The third topic in our 2021 Fruit Tree Education series focuses on A breakdown of the best trees for the low desert. Discover which trees have won Greg’s approval for taste and harvest success. People often ask me what fruit tree should I buy? I then ask “what do you like to eat?...plant that!” Over the years I have experimented with many different varieties of trees and I have come up with my favorite trees and bushes to grow...because they work here, taste great, and produce over the long term.

WIth our extreme temperatures of the low desert, timing your tree planting can reduce the stresses and help avoid the heartbreak of losing a new tree to shock.
