A Request from Greg Peterson to Help Build our Local Economy
Many of you know about my deep commitment to building our local economy and the local food system. In the process there are many local hero’s that have created significant change in food and local business. During my time at ASU from 1999 to 2006 I had the great pleasure to attend an incredible one year educational program with Courtney Klein. She was instrumental in creating and funding a project calledNew Global CItizens, which has created incredible ripples for our planet.
Courtney is at it again along with Chris Petroff and Anna Miller. They are working on an new project calledSeed Spot. This project will build our local economy, infuse capital, create jobs and most of all educate.
From their website:
SEED SPOT is a nonprofit incubator focused on supporting Arizona’s most innovative social entrepreneurs; those creating high impact ventures that improve the lives of people and communities on a local, national, or global scale.
Whether a for-profit business with a social mission or a nonprofit organization with a sustainable revenue model – SEED SPOT believes in supporting entrepreneurs that are launching innovative ideas that improve lives, make communities stronger, and create positive social change.
