42: Dave Young on Weather Prediction for Homesteaders

Cap’n Dave has been gardening since he was a kid, and his Dad taught him fishing, hunting, gardening… and the myriad skills of a self-reliant outdoorsman. He has been a SCUBA instructor and dive boat captain, has now been in professional aviation for over 2 decades, currently a pilot for the Governors of Florida. 

Cap’n Dave is also a certified permaculture designer. He has 6 acres out in the woods that he has been “food foresting” for a couple decades and “permaculturing” for 5 years. His main crop is blueberries and in addition to vegetables he raises rabbits, chickens, ducks, and turkeys.
