Sometimes we get a request for a tree that is not a common choice or a bit beyond our normal selection. This is why we have created this alternate process for ordering unique trees.  This is the The Urban Farm Special Order Fruit Tree Program!

We have worked to give you direct access to hundreds of deciduous trees from our deciduous grower’s wholesale nursery.  If you’re looking for a special tree that the Urban Farm is not offering in our standard program this year, this is the place to find it.

Special Order Deciduous Trees:

These have unique qualities and root-stocks that require additional micro-climate considerations. We recommend you do your research before committing to purchasing these trees and we advise against beginners starting with these trees. These trees arrive in January.
All Special Orders: are accepted as pre-orders during the Early Bird Season ONLY.  No exchanges or refunds after Saturday, November 3rd, once our order is committed with the grower.

HOWEVER – not all of the trees offered on the list will grow in our area.  Before you place a special order, sign up for a class (online or in person), ask questions, and learn about chill hours and root stocks.  A great place to start is the Dave Wilson website HERE.

Don’t get stuck with a tree which won’t grow here or will never give you fruit – do your homework before you order!

For the 2018-19 program – All Special Order standard deciduous varieties are only $54, with the exception of Persimmons and Jujubes, which are $60.

24 inch Box Citrus Trees:

These full size citrus trees are going to give fruit quicker, but they are not something one person can lift by themselves.  They require special transportation arrangements and will not fit in the back of your standard vehicle.  We recommend using a truck with a loading ramp so they can be easily loaded with a heavy-duty dolly. (We’ve seen success with a standard rental truck which you can probably rent for less than $40). Citrus  trees arrive in Late February.  These trees require a conversation before ordering to ensure availability.  Please contact Janis at 602-248-9256 ext 5.  We will be accepting orders for boxed citrus trees through mid-December, but availability does drop as the season progresses.
