SUMMARY:Seed Saving Class - Squashes\, Melons\, and Gourds!
DESCRIPTION:New topics every month.\nGet Your Seed Saving Questions Answered!\n\nSquashes\, melons and gourds\, oh my. These varieties make up the curcurbit family and this is the perfect time for most regions to consider planting them.  There are three species in this family and each individual species will not cross-pollinate with another species in this family. For example\, you can plant a butternut (moschata)\, pumpkin (pepo) and and cushaw melon (mixta) in the same area without worrying about cross-pollination although we love when things “cross’ and make new and delicious varieties. Greg Peterson and  Bill McDorman from Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance will talk about these favorites and share tips for planting\, harvesting\, breeding and eating these vining beauties. \n5pm Pacific (AZ) / 6pm Mountain / 8pm Eastern \nRegister HERE anytime\nfor next class \nIn this LIVE online Q&A Session… \n\nBill McDorman will be discussing key issues relating to growing your own food and saving the seeds yourselves.\nHe will be answering your seed questions live!\nLearn how to save and store seeds so that you can create a thriving\, resilient garden tailored to YOUR yard\nAsk Bill your most pressing seed questions and get the inspiration and know-how to be a seed saving superhero\n\nRegister HERE anytime\nfor next class \nFaculty: Bill McDorman is Executive Director and co-founder of the Rocky Mountain Seed Alliance (RockyMountainSeeds.org)\, SeedSave.org and Seed School. Bill has been teaching seed saving for decades and is dedicated to educating communities about the value of seed saving and local seeds as the foundation of local food.
