Designed to introduce the beginner to growing food in the desert, this basic organic gardening workshop will arm you with the information to start growing this spring!

Spend hands-on time in the garden during this 5 part 11-hour workshop.
Taught by The Home Ec Department at the Urban Farm.
We will cover: garden site considerations, soil prep, tools of the trade, the importance of organic matter, growing in containers, using the planting calendar, seeds vs. transplants, fertilizer basics, what to look for at the nursery, planting techniques, harvesting and season extension ideas.

3 Classroom Sessions on Mondays: January 9, 16 and 23, 6:30 to 8:30 pm
2 Hands On Sessions on Saturday January 14, 9:30 am to noon & Saturday January 28, 9:30-11:30 am.
