Urban Farmer Gardening Intensive

This class is taught by the gardening team at the Urban Farm. Melanie, Heather, Shannon and Greg will share their extensive knowledge of growing in the desert. The Urban Farmer Gardening Intensive is a 6 session course:
Classroom Sessions - Thursday's Oct 20, 27 and Nov 3
Hands On Sessions - Saturday's Oct 29 and Nov 5.
Each Session will include a unique view of being able to successfully grow food in the desert.
Classroom Sessions:
Thursday Oct 20 - Session 1 explores site observation, assessing your space, water, soil, tools, and defining your garden goals.
Thursday Oct 27 - Session 2 explores the types of gardens available, site preparation, building healthy soil, composting and noncomposting.
Thursday Nov 3 - Session 5 explores planting your water first, watering methods, chlorine removal, mulching, what to plant when, annuals vs perennials, seed types and planting techniques.
Hands On Sessions:
Saturday Oct 29 - Session 3 visits a local nursery to get hands on experience of what to buy for your garden without spending too much.
Saturday Oct 29 - Session 4 dives into the garden for soil prep, sheet mulching, watering systems, and planting.
Saturday Nov 5 - Session 6 observes your work, visits the garden, discusses disease and pests.
Your entire Urban Farmer Gardening intensive is only $75, plus if you wish to bring a friend they can come for only an additional $50.
