Being a lifelong Phoenix gardener, it is often assumed that he has growing all figured out – so much so that when people tell him they have two black thumbs he just laughs, then promises them that he has killed more plants, including trees, than they probably ever will. In reality, gardening in the desert is simple enough that one rule and two very important instructions will make growing a lot easier.
